Chief Accountant

The Chief Accountant position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and effective internal controls. This role leads the future accounting team that is going to be established in due course, manages financial records, and supports management with reliable financial information for decision-making.

• Oversee and execute daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements
• Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders such as banks, suppliers.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high performance and accuracy
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial risks
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies
• Support management with financial analysis and reports
• Ensure timely filing of tax returns and statutory reports

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) preferred
• Proven experience as a senior accountant or accounting manager
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in accounting softwares and MS Excel
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and integrity
• 7-10 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of project delivery methodologies, accounting and finance.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution capabilities.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Ability to lead high-pressure, fast-paced delivery environments with precision and accountability.
