Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management on financial performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations; coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to strengthen financial governance.
• Mentor and guide junior accountants and accounting staff, fostering professional development and team efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
• Support special projects such as system implementations, audits, and regulatory reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification highly preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
• Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and tax reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience with financial reporting systems and ERP platforms is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
