This is a full-time, on-site External Auditor role based in Doha, Qatar. The External Auditor will plan and execute audit engagements, including risk assessment, testing of controls, and substantive procedures in line with applicable auditing standards. Responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, verifying supporting documentation, assessing internal controls, and identifying areas of non-compliance or potential improvement. The role involves preparing clear, well‑structured audit working papers and reports, communicating findings and recommendations to clients and senior team members, and assisting in the preparation of management letters.
The External Auditor will also collaborate with tax and advisory teams when needed, stay current with relevant accounting and auditing standards, and support the development of junior team members.
- Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles (e.g., IFRS), and financial reporting.
- Experience in planning and performing external audits, including risk assessment, testing, and documentation.
- Ability to analyze financial data, evaluate internal controls, and identify control weaknesses and process gaps.
- Proficiency with audit and accounting software, spreadsheets, and other productivity tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of clear audit reports and client correspondence.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professional skepticism, and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) or progress toward one is preferred.
- Prior experience in an external audit role within a public accounting or audit firm is an advantage.
- Familiarity with tax and business advisory concepts relevant to the Qatar and regional regulatory environment is beneficial.
