The main objective of the position is to ensure support for financial accounting & reporting activities for the entire QR Group are executed in line with Accounting Frameworks.
Roles and Responsibilities Strategic- Support the line manager to provide insights to Management, for strategic decision making through researching IFRSs and QR Group's policies.
- Assist with researching International Accounting/Reporting Standards and industry accounting best practices to ensure Airline and Group accounting processes are in line with them.
- Responsible for timely completion of external audits of QR Group.
- Support the preparation of QR Group consolidated financial statements in line IFRSs.
- Assist with the Monthly and Yearly Financial Statements for Group and Individual entities are prepared in line with IFRSs.
- Assisting Manager R2R Accounting and Reporting to manage the interim and year-end external audit requirements as per timelines.
- Developing white papers for IFRSs and identifying major changes impacting Group Entities.
- Support month end closing activities are completed in line with Month Timetable.
- Assist with measuring performance against defined key performance indicators (KPIs), review KPIs on a regular basis and suggest changes where necessary.
- Support the Finance Transformation initiatives by providing accounting advices and process knowledge.
- Educate finance staff in applying IFRSs/IASs and the best industry accounting practices.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by Finance Management.
- Establish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
- Regularly evaluate the department or team’s objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes if needed.
- Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.

Qualification About You- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
- Relevant University degree (Finance, Accounting, Business or related).
- Recognized professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Minimum 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in finance, group controllership, controls, or finance transformation.
- Proven track record leading consolidation and reporting for a multi-entity group.
- Hands-on experience integrating acquisitions and standardizing processes across multiple countries (ERP implementations, new tax set-ups, intercompany frameworks, winding-down of legacy operations).
- Demonstrable experience driving real centralization / shared services / GBS migrations and rationalization of outsourced vendors.
- Strong IFRS knowledge applied in a complex group environment.
- Experience interfacing with external auditors, PE / Lender stakeholders and Boards on monthly and annual reporting.
