Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Doha, Qatar. The Senior Accountant will manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing activities. Responsibilities include preparing financial statements and reports, supporting audit engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations, and assisting in the preparation of tax returns and related documentation.

The role also involves reviewing work prepared by junior team members, identifying process improvements, and contributing to business advisory engagements through financial analysis and insights. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with internal teams and clients, maintaining clear communication and high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in financial accounting, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
• Experience with audit procedures, internal controls, and compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards.
• Knowledge of tax regulations, tax return preparation, and basic tax planning concepts.
• Ability to perform detailed financial analysis, reconciliations, and variance reviews to support business advisory services.
• Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; strong Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification.
• Seven years of relevant accounting and audit experience, ideally within professional services or similar environments.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and guide junior team members.
• Capacity to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, handle multiple deadlines, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
