Assistant Accountant; Motor Insurance

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant (Motor) to support the Motor Insurance portfolio with accurate, timely and well-controlled accounting. The role covers processing approved claims and vendor payments, preparing bank reconciliations, clearing reconciling items and supporting the month-end close. You will work closely with the Motor Claims & Network and Underwriting teams to resolve pending items and improve payment and collection cycles, applying maker-checker controls, documentation standards and data-privacy requirements.

The role reports to the Senior Finance Operations Officer in the Finance and Investment department.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field (e.g. B.S. in Accounting, BCom).
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in insurance accounting or a similar domain.
• Insurance qualification is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle ERP (Receivables and Banking) or similar systems.
• Good understanding of motor claims payments, network provider accounts and insurance collections.
• Strong experience in bank reconciliation, account reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Awareness of QCB regulations and compliance requirements.
