Technician Grade 5

Responsibilities

• Perform highly complex diagnostic and repair work on specialized vehicles and systems, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
• Use advanced diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to other technicians.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines for working with hazardous materials.
• Continuously update knowledge of new automotive technologies and repair methods.
• Carry out all Periodic Maintenance Services and Running Repairs.
• Carry out Advance Electrical and Mechanical Diagnosis.
• Carry out Engine and Transmission Overhauling.
• Carry out Advance Electrical and Mechanical Repairs.
• Order from parts department all required parts.
• Use ESM during the repair process.
• Carry out the necessary repairs.
• Tag and return the warranty parts regularly.
• Ensure that he clocks on and off for every repair carried out.
• Write a concise report of all the work completed.
• Report on the need for additional work.
• Label and secure displaced parts.
• Ensure relevant service sheets are completed and attached to Repair Orders.
• Ensure the highest standards of workmanship are maintained.
• Ensure that uniforms are always clean and tidy.
• Ensure while performing duties, proper tools/SST are used.
• Complete the work given within the specified time.
• Maintain the productivity standards.
• Assist Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate manager.

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized technical school training in automotive repair
• Master certification or equivalent, with additional certifications in specialized areas such as hybrid or electric vehicle repair
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in automotive repair
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to manage and supervise a team of technicians
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
