Overview
Corporate Development - Associate / Senior Associate (Qatari Nationals) is a core execution role within Qatar Sports Investments’ Corporate Development team, supporting the delivery of QSI’s global investment, strategy, and portfolio value-creation agenda. The role is responsible for the analytical, transactional, and project-management work underpinning QSI’s investments across sports, media, and entertainment, including evaluating new opportunities, supporting end-to-end M&A execution, contributing to strategic initiatives, and monitoring portfolio performance post-investment.
Working closely with senior management, portfolio company leadership, and external advisors, the Associate / Senior Associate ensures disciplined capital deployment, high-quality decision-making, and effective execution across multiple concurrent work streams. The role requires strong financial and strategic judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-paced, high-standards investment environment.
- Support the development and refinement of QSI’s sports investment strategy, including target markets, asset types, and growth themes
- Screen and assess new investment opportunities, ensuring strategic fit with QSI’s portfolio
- Conduct market research, sector analysis, and opportunity mapping
- Support end-to-end transaction execution across acquisitions, minority investments, joint ventures, and divestments
- Build financial models, valuations, and investment analyses
- Coordinate due diligence processes and manage interaction with internal teams and external advisors
- Contribute to strategic reviews, new venture assessments, and business development initiatives
- Prepare analytical briefings and reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors
- Support investment committee and board processes with research and analysis
- Monitor portfolio company performance and prepare regular reporting against financial and operational KPIs
- Support post-investment integration and value-creation initiatives
- Assist in identifying and quantifying cross-portfolio synergies
- Support commercial initiatives, partnership evaluations, and revenue or cost-optimization analyses
- Contribute to ad-hoc strategic and commercial projects as required
- Prepare investment papers, management presentations, and decision materials
- University level (Bachelor), minimum degree or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years (Associate) or 5 to 7 years (Senior Associate) of experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, in-house M&A / Corporate Development, Management Consulting
- Prior experience working in sports and media is highly desirable, otherwise a demonstratable understanding of the industry
- Proven analytical and project management experience supporting complex transactions or strategic initiatives
- A passion for sports and entertainment
- Required:
Business proficiency in English and Arabic - Desirable:
Business proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese - Mastery of financial modelling and corporate finance
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to interpret data and generate insights
- Excellent communication and the ability to present in a precise, compelling manner, and the confidence and professionalism to represent the organisation
- Strong project management, and strategic planning skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- The ability to maintain excellent attention to detail
Strong preference will be given to candidates with an in-depth understanding of sports business and related landscapes including digitalization, media, and other key topics and trends driving sports properties’ core business, supporting an ability to foresee key challenges and innovations.
