Job Description

Job Responsibility

The following section outlines a more detailed, but not exhaustive, description of the duties pertinent to this post.

Key responsibilities and capabilities:

  • Receive and receipt school tuition/fee payments; and to accurately report this information to the school Accounts Officer.
  • Disbursement of petty cash as instructed by school Accounts Officer.
  • Reconcile and balance petty cash.
  • Prepare banking deposits as requested.
  • Prepare Bank, Cash and Supplier reconciliation.
  • Keep and maintain all records of fees, records pertaining to other school income and financial transactions.
  • Assist the school Accountant and Assistant Accountant in day-to-day accounting procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to Head of Accounts and Finance Manager.
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Working with spreadsheets, sales, general ledgers and journals.
  • Preparing Invoices/Payment Letters to parents & also raising the Invoices in The Accounting System.
  • Managing Daily Cash /Cheque Transactions (Also Deposits), Raising Payment Receipts.
  • Controlling Customer credit and chasing debt.
  • Reconciling finance accounts (Bank Accounts Etc.).

Person Specification :

  • Sound Accounting knowledge.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Professional telephone manner combined with a high level of spoken and written English.
  • A keen eye for detail and a methodical and diligent approach to ensure quality and accurate results to any given task.
  • Computer literate including use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
  • Able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Commit customer first principles i.e. goes the extra mile and follows-up & follows through.
  • Takes accountability and looks for a solution respond.
  • Addresses issues positively.
  • Is an active listener.
  • Is respectful and values staff.
