Position: Sr. Construction Supervisor (Telecom)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage installation of Access Control System, CCTV System and LAN/WAN System, PAGA System and PABX System.
  • Supervise and manage installation of VHF/UHF/TETRA Systems, Microwave Radio Systems works.
  • Supervise and manage installation of Intercom Systems, Hotline Network Systems works
  • Supervise and manage installation of Voice Recorder Systems works.
  • Supervise and manage installation of Cable trays, conduits, cable laying, cable termination of his discipline.
  • Supervise and manage installation of fibre optic cable splicing & testing.
  • Supervise and manage installation of lifting / fixing Antennas, Antenna Alignment, LOS
  • Supervise and manage installation of Racks installations (Radio/ OTN / CCTV / PAGA).
  • Control and supervise the site construction / installation of multiple projects of his discipline including work permit endorsement.
  • Review construction method statements, commissioning procedures, and endorse Redline Mark-up drawings, as‑built drawings and construction dossiers.
  • Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project plans and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Monitor the pace of progress with relation to the project plan and update/forecast any slippage in the schedule and provide solutions.
  • Participate in the pre commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Supervise the EPIC Contractors during the execution of construction activities at construction site.
  • Supervise and approve construction activities and co‑ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
  • Carry out daily checks on contractor's staff and work carried out during the previous day to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual specifications.
  • Witness SAT pre‑commissioning activities for equipment.
  • Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments.
  • Report to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
  • Sign work permits on behalf of COMPANY and to ensure that contractor's compliance with work permits.
  • Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to COMPANY by contractor by paying special attention to all equipment including Quality checks.
  • Report to COMPANY Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with QC Inspector and HSE officer on matters related to quality and HSE.
  • Participate and contribute actively to all engineering and installation workshops such as Constructability review, HAZOP, SIMOPS, Risk Assessments, JSA, JHAs etc.
  • Ensure that the project is executed in line with scope of work complying with COMPANY standards and EPIC Contract requirements.
Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree (or) Higher National Diploma (or) Diploma in Electronics and Communication (or) IT Engineering from an internationally recognized University.
  • Proven experience:

    Radio Systems – Microwave Links, TETRA, VHF, UHF, VSAT, Marine Radio;
    Security Systems – CCTV, PAGA, PAVA, Access Control;
    Fibre Optics – Optical Transmission SDH, PDH, OTNo; IP Networking – Switches, Routers, LAN/WAN, Structured Cabling, MDF/IDF;
    Telecom systems – PABX, Hotline, Field Telephones, IP Telephones;
    Audio/Video Systems; DC Power System, Rectifiers, UPS, Solar Panels and Batteries.
  • Minimum of 8‑10 years (10‑12) experience in Telecom, Radio, Fiber Optic and Microwave System construction and installation activities in projects of oil & gas industry.
  • Experience in the implementation of construction industry best practices, systems, processes and standards.
  • Solid knowledge and experience of all related telecom construction and commissioning activities.
  • Employment proof from a well‑recognized IT/Telecom company in a similar position.
  • Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems related to installation activities and suggest solutions.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.

  • Salary:
    • Day Rate in QAR Plus Allowance

    • 8 Hours / 5 Days
