Senior Estimator

Job Summary

The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading the pre-contract estimation and tendering process, ensuring accurate cost planning, risk assessment, and competitive bid preparation for construction and fit-out projects. The role supports strategic bid decisions through effective coordination with internal stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams while maintaining commercial viability and profitability.

• Review and evaluate tender documents, drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope, risks, and bid strategy.
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, budgets, and pricing proposals for construction and fit-out projects.
• Obtain, analyse, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost-effective and competitive tender submissions.
• Identify commercial, technical, and contractual risks, assumptions, and exclusions during the tendering process.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, planning, and project teams to optimize solutions and ensure alignment of project requirements.
• Finalize tender submissions and provide management with recommendations for bid approval and decision-making.
• Support project handover activities and provide cost-related clarifications, variation assessments, and commercial guidance during project execution.
• Maintain estimation databases, market pricing information, and historical cost records to improve estimating accuracy.
• Monitor tender performance, prepare management reports, and contribute to continuous improvement of estimation processes.
• Lead, mentor, and provide technical support to the estimating team while ensuring compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in construction estimation and tendering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in building construction and fit-out projects.
• GCC experience is preferred.
