Title:
Head of Construction (Fabrication)
Start Date:
Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 36 months (potential for extension)
Location:
Onshore (site based), Qatar
Working
Schedule:
6‑days per week / 10 hours per day
Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of all aspects of fabrication requirements from yard activities to load out, ensuring key objectives are achieved or exceeded and that constructability aligns with engineering standards.
Key Accountabilities- Report to the Execution Division Manager.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during fabrication.
- Manage and ensure successful execution of fabrication activities to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, etc.).
- Supervise contractor/subcontractor activities related to fabrication, mechanical completion, and documentation compliance with contractual and international standards.
- Check constructability and compliance of deliverables from engineering team.
- Review deviations from company LNG construction standards and coordinate corrections with contractors.
- Compile a consistent dossier of documents, materials, and pre‑commissioning records for construction activities.
- Identify progress or quality concerns and recommend corrective actions.
- Review contractor progress reports, highlight critical issues.
- Coordinate with contractors for structure, MC, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning progress and reporting.
- Lead risk assessment, kickoff, pre‑job, and technical meetings as required.
- Participate in lessons‑learned sessions and communicate findings to current project.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering.
- Minimum 12 years of experience with large oil & gas construction projects, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge of project execution procedures and field management techniques (fabrication, welding, lifting, mechanical testing, completions).
- Experience with oil and gas contractors, service companies, or heavy construction firms.
- Understanding of design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria for major fabrication and installation projects.
- Familiarity with offshore/onshore facilities and yard operations for LNG and sour gas projects.
- Experience in large‑scale operating organizations across operations, projects, and subsurface.
