Job Description
Materials Inspector – Doha, Qatar
Support site supervision by conducting inspections of ongoing construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. Serve as a key member of the quality assurance team to maintain high standards of workmanship and report issues to the supervisory team.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine site inspections to verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Monitor daily site progress and report deviations from planned work to the Senior Works Inspector or Resident Engineer.
- Ensure that construction materials and workmanship meet specified project requirements.
- Review and verify material deliveries and storage for compliance with project standards.
- Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to support timely completion of activities and address technical or quality-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain inspection records, daily reports, and other documentation required by the project.
- Report safety violations or hazardous conditions and ensure prompt resolution in coordination with the HSE team.
- Support the resolution of non‑conformances and assist with follow‑up inspections after corrective actions.
- Participate in site meetings and inspections with consultants, contractors, and client representatives as required.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from a recognized institution (subject to approval by the Engineer).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or supervision, preferably on infrastructure or civil projects, with at least 3 years in a consultancy environment.
- Prior experience on large‑scale infrastructure or public works projects (e.g., roads, utilities, drainage systems).
- Good understanding of construction methods, technical drawings, and material specifications.
- Familiarity with local and international standards and codes related to construction and quality assurance.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team on site.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic reporting tools.
- Effective written and spoken English communication skills.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and HSE regulations in the construction industry.
- Experience working in the Gulf region is preferred.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
