Project Designer - Facade

Responsibilities

• Review the structural and architectural drawings and prepare detailed engineering drawings for aluminium and glazing works.
• Make sure that structural checks are done for all related details (ie. aluminium glass brackets, etc).
• Effect any alterations on the aluminium shop drawings in coordination with Project Managers.
• Provide profile cutting list and details of materials to be used for the building facades.
• Prepare fabrication drawings and cutting list of profiles, glass and steel work orders and material indents.
• Provide approved detailed shop drawings with component schedule (profiles/gaskets/accessories/hardware schedule).
• Responsible for pre-ordering of materials in coordination with Design Team.
• Coordinate between Tender BDD PMD Factory and Site for delivery of fabricated items in time as per priority.
• Advise drawings and technical issues with client or architect when necessary.
• Have an understanding of the principles governing thermal performance, condensation risk, etc and how they are applied in façade design.
• Have an understanding of how the principles of structural mechanics are applied in façade design.
• Have the ability to research and evaluate materials and system options to keep knowledge up‑to‑date.
• Have knowledge of materials and installation techniques.
• Have the ability to understand and react to design changes and budget constraints.
• Should have a valid QID & NOC.
• Change sponsorship is a must.

• Bachelor of Engineering or Engineering Diploma.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in curtain wall industry.
• MUST have experience in design of Unitized façade systems.
• Must be proficient with the relevant design software programs.
• Should have a valid QID & NOC.
• Change sponsorship is a must.
