Design Manager

Responsible for managing and coordinating all interior design and technical design activities for fit-out projects, ensuring that designs are aligned with client requirements, construction methodology, budget, program, and local authority regulations. The role acts as the central coordination point between clients, consultants, internal design teams, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure seamless design-to-construction delivery.

• Manage the full interior fit-out design lifecycle from concept development to IFC drawings and as-built documentation
• Coordinate interior architecture, finishes, FF&E, joinery, MEP interfaces, and specialist packages
• Ensure design solutions are buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with site constraints
• Act as the primary design interface with clients, consultants, and PMCs
• Attend and lead client meetings, design presentations, and coordination workshops
• Manage client comments, approvals, and change requests throughout the design process
• Coordinate closely with site teams, procurement, and commercial departments
• Develop and manage design programs aligned with construction schedules
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization exercises
• Control and manage design changes to minimize variations and delays
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
• Resolve design‑related site issues, RFIs, and clashes in coordination with site teams
• Ensure design intent is fully maintained during execution
• Ensure all design deliverables meet company QA/QC standards

• Bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture, or Engineering with UPDA Certification (Grade
  
  A) preferred
• Professional certifications are an advantage
• 8–10 years of experience in interior design and fit‑out projects
• Minimum 4–5 years in a Leadership role
• Strong experience with fit‑out projects in GCC
• Prior experience working with interior fit‑out contractors is essential
• Strong understanding of interior fit‑out construction methods, materials, and detailing
• Strong coordination skills across joinery, finishes, MEP interfaces, and FF&E
• Strong leadership and coordination skills
• Client‑focused with excellent communication abilities
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive problem‑solving approach
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast‑track projects
• Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully in a multinational market environment
