Interior Designer

INTERIOR DESIGNER – SHAHAM GENERAL CONTRACTING W.L.L (Doha, Qatar)

Full‑time on‑site position offering great opportunities for career growth.

• Meet with clients to identify goals and requirements for the space and outline client design objectives.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors and other experts to achieve functional and aesthetic needs.
• Analyze how people operate and move in the space, including patterns of use.
• Conceptualize design plans and prepare sketches or other visual aids to present designs to the client.
• Create mood boards to help clients visualize your design.
• Consult with the client to choose materials, furnishings and decor that fulfill the requirements and vision.
• Use design applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil3D) to create final plans shared with stakeholders.
• Determine project timeline and costs, and present accurate estimates to clients.
• Order or obtain design materials (furnishings, decor, etc.) as needed to meet project budget specifications.
• Oversee installation of design elements and review the site after final installation to ensure it meets original requirements and vision.
• Address client complaints or concerns and work to ensure client satisfaction.
• Stay up‑to‑date on current design trends, materials, techniques, and other developments.
• Perform additional related duties as needed.

• Can create and install or oversee installation of interior designs using a variety of styles, colors, textures, materials, furnishings, etc.
• Strong organizational, time and project management skills.
• Comfortable with multitasking and working on several projects or priorities at a time.
• Ability to solve problems and execute plans effectively.
• Sketching, visual design and computational abilities.
• Experience using design software.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Basic architectural understanding.
• Strong communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
• Capable of articulating design vision to clients and various stakeholders.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and needs.
• Desire to meet or exceed client expectations.

• Bachelor’s degree or certificate in interior design, interior architecture or another applicable area of study.
• Demonstrable design experience (portfolio, website, photographs or other).
• Computer‑based software design proficiency.

• Able to communicate clearly and understand others.
• Capable of working on a desktop and/or laptop computer.
• Able to perceive differences in colors, shapes, textures, shades and light.
• Can see and distinguish objects at a distance.
