About the RoleWe are seeking Senior Lecturers / Lecturers in Cyber Security to teach, mentor,and contribute to the continuous improvement of our computing programmes. Therole requires both academic and professional engagement, fostering student success and advancing the College’s strategic goals.
Facultyjoining at this stage will be part of a rapidly developing academic community with opportunities to progress to senior academic and leadership roles (e.g.,Programme Leader, Associate Dean, or Dean), depending on performance and institutional contribution.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Deliver and assess postgraduate modules in cybersecurity, as well as undergraduate modules in computer science, software engineering, and related areas.
- Develop and update teaching materials in linewith current academic and industry developments.
- Contribute to the design, validation, and enhancement of academic programmes.
- Prepare and moderate assessments in accordance with LJMU academic regulations and assessment frameworks.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and provide academic mentoring to students.
- Engage in research and scholarly activitiesaligned with the College’s strategic priorities.
- Collaborate with industry partners andadvisory boards to enhance programme relevance.
- Contribute to the delivery of continuing professional development (CPD) and short courses.
- Participate in academic committees,departmental meetings, and institutional initiatives.
- Commit to continuous professional development and support the university’s growth and quality enhancement strategies.
- A PhD degree in Computer Science (with Cyber Security specialization), Cyber Security or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in teaching and research atthe University level.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
- Evidence of commitment to high-quality teaching, learning, and student success.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- A track record of scholarly research andpeer-reviewed publications.
- Experience in curriculum design, moduleleadership, and quality assurance.
- Experience supervising research projects atundergraduate or postgraduate level.
- Engagement in consultancy, innovation, orapplied industry projects.
- Passionate about teaching, mentoring, and fostering student potential.
