Reporting to the Department Head, the successful candidate will develop, deliver, and evaluate a broad range of Respiratory Therapy courses, evaluate student progress, manage learning resources, liaise with industry and other institutions, participate in advisory committees, coordinate projects within the program area, maintain accreditation‑required portfolio documents, and contribute to the university’s professional and community life.
QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements Education
- Ph.D. or Doctorate in Respiratory Therapy or a respiratory‑related health field; if not, a graduate and/or undergraduate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Unrestricted license in the state or country where the program is located (eligible for application).
- Record of academic and Respiratory Therapy practice.
- At least five (5) years of full‑time equivalent recent academic experience.
- At least two (2) years of full‑time equivalent clinical practice experience.
- Competence with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Use of diverse, current teaching approaches in classroom, laboratory, simulation, and practicums.
- Proficiency with a variety of educational technology and platforms.
- Academic and information literacy skills.
- Contribution to knowledge through applied research, scholarship, publication, or professional practice expected to be international in scope.
- Preference for candidates with contributions to quality improvement, curriculum development, and teaching/learning.
- Commitment to applied and experiential learning.
- Capability to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments using contemporary tools.
- Digital literacy and fluency in technology systems; ability to model and facilitate emerging digital tools for research and learning.
- Experience developing technology‑enriched learning environments that enable student active participation.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Collaborative and collegial spirit; ability to establish rapport with learners, colleagues, sponsors, and community members.
- Experience in leadership and innovation in technology‑based projects.
