Primary EAL Teacher – Qatar
Compass International School in Doha is seeking a dedicated Primary EAL Teacher to support children aged 3‑11. The role is part of a premium British curriculum environment with a strong focus on student wellbeing and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned to the British Primary curriculum and EAL strategies.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing targeted feedback and adapting instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, EAL specialists and parents to create a supportive learning community.
- Implement behaviour management techniques that foster respect and a positive classroom culture.
- Take ownership of professional development, seeking new ideas to continuously improve outcomes.
- Contribute to the school’s vision by promoting high expectations and a clear learning culture.
- University degree in Education or related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE/PGDE, QTS).
- Minimum two years of teaching experience, ideally with EAL students.
- Strong working knowledge of the English National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills.
- Personal qualities: integrity, reliability, commitment, confident presence, energetic positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, cultural sensitivity, resilience, time management and flexibility.
