Secondary Mathematics Teacher – Newton British Academy (NBA), Doha

Newton British Academy (NBA), Barwa Campus, is a well-established British international school in Doha, Qatar, delivering the English National Curriculum from Early Years through to Secondary. We are seeking a committed and experienced Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. A strong understanding of the English National Curriculum and GCSE Mathematics specifications is essential.

The role involves planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that promote mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and fluency. The teacher will use effective assessment strategies to track progress, inform planning, and support student attainment. A commitment to high expectations for learning and behaviour, inclusive practice, and positive classroom management is required.

• Deliver engaging and well‑planned Mathematics lessons in line with the British National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE/IGCSE experience desirable).
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.
• Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, departmental development, and whole‑school initiatives.
• Support students’ personal, social, and emotional development through effective pastoral care.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student achievement.

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, BEd, QTS, or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of two years’ full‑time teaching experience within a British curriculum school.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Mathematics (GCSE/IGCSE experience preferred).
• Fluent English speaker with strong subject knowledge, classroom management, and communication skills.
• A student‑centred and inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
• Ability to adapt confidently to a multicultural and dynamic school environment.
