Key Responsibilities
- Teach English for Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12 (High School Diploma/IBDP).
- Plan, deliver and assess well-structured lessons, using formative and summative assessment.
- Adapt instruction to meet the strengths and needs of all pupils, including special educational needs, high ability, and English as an additional language.
- Establish a safe and stimulating learning environment, fostering mutual respect and high expectations.
- Use data to monitor progress, set targets and plan subsequent lessons.
- Provide regular, constructive feedback to pupils and support them in reflecting on their progress.
- Maintain consistent classroom behaviour management, implementing school behaviour policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding pupils’ achievements and well‑being.
- Fulfil wider professional responsibilities, including participation in extra‑curricular activities and curriculum development.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and engage in playground duties as required.
- Perform general teacher duties reasonably expected of a teacher, including health and safety awareness.
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching from an accredited institution.
- Teaching certification required by Qatar MOEHE.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience.
- Experience teaching English in High School Diploma, IB Diploma or A-Level; experience in IB DP Chemistry is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of school assessment methods and curriculum developments.
- Effective lesson planning and delivery skills, including differentiation techniques.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
- Proven management and behaviour‑management skills.
- Customer‑service orientation and ability to work under pressure.
- Competence in computer applications (word processing and spreadsheets).
- Integrity, confidentiality, safeguarding awareness and commitment to professional development.
- Empathetic listener and emotionally intelligent.
- Internationally minded intercultural awareness and creativity.
- Flexible, can‑do attitude with a passion for quality education.
- Reliability, attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to build respectful relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- All post holders are subject to background checks and vetting procedures covering the previous 10 years’ employment history.
