Responsibilities
- Teach General Science to students in Grades 6–8 (Years 7–9)
- Teach Chemistry to students in High School Diploma or IBDP levels (Grades 9–12, Years 10–13)
- Demonstrate passion for teaching, continuous improvement, and commitment to igniting student passion, purpose and potential
- Contribute to the development of the Science Department, creating creative opportunities to enrich the learning experience
- Plan and develop curriculum, adapting it to student needs while maintaining overall class progress
- Assess and record student development, identify problem areas and areas needing improvement, and provide targeted strategies
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and school leaders
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour, promote safety, and comply with school rules and guidelines
- Set high expectations, motivate and challenge pupils from all backgrounds
- Establish a safe and stimulating environment rooted in mutual respect
- Take accountability for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes
- Be aware of pupils’ capabilities and prior knowledge to plan teaching that builds on these
- Guide pupils to reflect on progress and emerging needs
- Demonstrate comprehensive subject knowledge, address misunderstandings, stay current with curriculum developments, and promote academic standards
- Provide well‑structured lessons that promote learning and intellectual curiosity
- Plan and supervise homework and out‑of‑class activities to extend learning
- Reflect systematically on lesson effectiveness and curriculum provision
- Differentiate instruction to address the needs of students with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language, and disabilities
- Use formative and summative assessment, give regular feedback, and use data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan subsequent lessons
- Manage behaviour with clear rules, routines, a consistent discipline framework, and decisive action when required
- Contribute to wider school life, including extracurricular activities and professional development
- Deploy support staff effectively and maintain professional relationships with colleagues
- Maintain health and safety standards, communicate safety importance, and perform playground duties in a timely and diligent manner
- Accept additional duties as requested by the Principal
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching from an accredited institution
- Required teaching certification for Qatar MOEHE
- Meet the professional teacher education requirements of the school
- Child Care and Protection certification
Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience.
LanguageEnglish is mandatory.
