Position: Part Time Instructor - Sciences (Chemistry & Biology)

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. The College of General Education is seeking qualified part‑time instructors exclusively from candidates available locally i.e. in Qatar with valid QID and no objection letter (NOC) to teach in‑person first‑and second‑year undergraduate laboratory courses in the following subject areas:

  • Chemistry (General Chemistry)
  • Biology (Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Anatomy & Physiology)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Science Department, successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Delivering first‑and second‑year undergraduate laboratory course content
  • Engaging students using creative and innovative teaching approaches
  • Providing timely and constructive feedback on assessments and assignments
  • Assessing and evaluating student progress in line with course outcomes
  • Collaborating with faculty teams to support curriculum goals
  • Managing instructional resources and maintaining an effective learning environment
  • Adhering to institutional policies on academic integrity, attendance, and student support
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related applied or pedagogical field) from a recognized university
  • A minimum of three (3) years of full‑time teaching experience at the upper secondary level or in post‑secondary/higher education institutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post‑graduate certificate, diploma, or degree in education or teaching methods
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated experience teaching first‑year undergraduate courses
Other Required Skills
  • Proficiency with adaptive learning technologies and learning management systems
  • Ability to support inclusive, technology‑enhanced learning environments
  • Digital fluency in tools that promote student engagement and feedback
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collegiality and professionalism in working with students and faculty
  • Ability to manage the resources of the learning environment and course portfolio documents required for program review and accreditation processes
