Role

The Teaching Assistant (TA) will support classroom instruction and assist teachers to ensure high learning standards for individual children in line with the school’s mission and vision.

• Enable the child to achieve high standards of learning.
• Maximise teaching and learning time.
• Develop the child's skills across the curriculum.
• Assess the child's attainment and progress.
• Identify and respond appropriately to individual differences between children.
• Set appropriate and challenging targets for the children.
• Set and maintain clear expectations of children's behaviour and assist in securing appropriate discipline standards.
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment.
• Present learning tasks and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner.
• Work with the children individually and in groups.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with children.
• Manage their own and the child's time effectively.
• Make a constructive contribution to the use of computers and other resources to aid learning.
• Help the child read set texts, worksheets, and other resources.
• Help the child set out work.
• Explain to the child what they are expected to do.

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Experience as learning support or a similar role.
• Preferably under husband/family sponsorship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
