Job Summary:

The Teaching Assistant will support teachers in delivering the curriculum and contributing to the mission of the school. The successful candidate will:

• Enable the child to achieve high standards of learning
• Maximize teaching and learning time
• Develop the child’s skills across the curriculum
• Assess the child’s attainment and progress
• Identify and respond appropriately to individual differences between children
• Set appropriate and challenging targets for the children
• Set and maintain clear expectations of children’s behaviour and assist in securing appropriate standards discipline
• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment
• Present learning task and curriculum content in a clear and stimulating manner
• Work with the children individually and in groups
• Communicate clearly and effectively with children
• Manage their own and the child’s time effectively
• Make a constructive contribution to the use of computers and other resources to aid learning
• Help the child read set texts, worksheets and other resources
• Help the child set out work
• Explain to the child what they are expected to do

• Degree level education or equivalent
• Experience as learning support or similar role
• Preferably under husband/family sponsorship
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
