Project Context and Scope

The Context and Scope of the project to provide psychosocial support to Afghan nationals residing in Al-Saliyah Camp through the provision of psychological counseling and specialized mental health services. The project focuses on prompt and effective response to the psychological and mental needs of refugees, including psychological assessments, individual support sessions, referrals to advanced services when necessary, and group activities that promote psychological resilience and social cohesion.

This intervention is part of broader humanitarian efforts to improve the quality of life and alleviate the psychological pressures faced by this vulnerable population due to displacement and difficult living conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Training and Mentorship:
    Lead basic tailoring skills sessions for students under the guidance of community tailors. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to community tailors, ensuring they are well prepared to train students. Develop and teach advanced tailoring techniques to enhance the skillset of community tailors.
  • Program Coordination and Logistics:
    Organize and oversee the day-to-day logistics of the Tailoring Program, ensuring all materials, tools, and resources are available and maintained. Plan and coordinate the schedule for training sessions, tailoring workshops, and student skill assessments. Ensure the program meets its objectives, timelines, and participant outcomes.
  • Capacity Building:
    Facilitate regular workshops and training to upskill community tailors in new fashion trends, techniques, and entrepreneurship. Encourage a supportive learning environment for community tailors to share experiences, ideas, and challenges.
  • Organizing Community Fashion Show:
    Lead the planning and organization of a community fashion show, showcasing the work of students and community tailors. Collaborate with community stakeholders and participants to manage logistics, venue, and invitations for the event. Work with participants to prepare garments, coordinate runway presentations, and manage all elements related to the show’s success.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
    Regularly track the progress of the training program and provide updates to the Program Manager. Collect and report on program data, including student participation, skill improvement, and program feedback.
Performance indicators for the evaluation of results

Delivered planned sessions with active participation, reaching a significant portion of the community members, with measurable improvement in basic sewing skills. Ensured smooth coordination of activities, timely availability, and completion of sessions according to schedule and objectives. Strengthening skills of community tailors through regular workshops, with increased knowledge sharing and positive participant feedback. Successfully organized key events (e.g., fashion show), tracked progress, and submitted accurate reports showing outcomes and community impact.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education & Experience:

High school diploma and/or vocational certificate in tailoring, with a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience; or a university degree in tailoring, fashion design, textile studies, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. Proven experience in tailoring and garment-making, with expertise in both basic and advanced techniques. Experience in teaching or mentoring, especially in a community setting.

Strong organizational and project management skills, with experience in event coordination. Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with different stakeholders.
