Art Teacher

Role Description

The Art Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. The Art Teacher will plan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with the American Academy School curriculum, adapting instruction to diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson materials, teaching a range of art techniques and media, assessing student work, and providing constructive feedback to support artistic and academic growth.

The role involves contributing to curriculum development in Art Education, organizing displays of student artwork, and participating in school events and activities that promote creativity.

• Strong instructional skills in Teaching and Art Education, with the ability to engage students of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development, particularly within an American or international school context.
• Practical expertise in Painting and other visual art forms, including techniques suitable for school-aged learners.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field.
• Previous classroom teaching experience, preferably in a K–5 international or multicultural setting.
• Ability to create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment that supports creativity and critical thinking.
• Effective communication and classroom management skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families.
• Familiarity with integrating technology into art instruction and using digital tools to enhance learning.
