About the job

We are seeking an immediate-start Qatari Permitting Consultant to lead regulatory approvals for a series of high‑profile drone shows on a project basis. This is a mission‑critical role for the remainder of the season, requiring a seasoned professional who can begin as soon as possible and operate with minimal onboarding.

The consultant will act as the local permitting authority expert , bridging our internal flight operations teams with Qatari government entities. While the operational scope is focused, the strategic impact is significant: establishing a clear, defensible permitting process that satisfies client and government expectations and enables long‑term sustainability.

As a Qatari Permitting Consultant, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage permitting applications for drone light show operations in Qatar
  • Coordinate closely with internal flight and production teams to align operational plans with regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary liaison with relevant Qatari government authorities to ensure timely approvals and issue resolution
  • Support airspace and operational deconfliction in coordination with client‑held base permits
  • Advise on regulatory requirements for night‑time aerial operations and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)
  • Establish and document a clear internal permitting process and approval pathway to enable future self‑sufficiency
  • Provide strategic guidance and documentation that can be presented to clients and stakeholders as proof of due diligence

You’ll need to have:

Demonstrated, hands‑on experience securing permits with:

  • SSOC – Safety & Security Operations Committee
  • MOE – Ministry of Environment
  • Proven experience with night‑time aerial operations and UAS/drone regulations
  • Established, active relationships within the above authorities to expedite approvals and troubleshoot issues in real time
  • Strong understanding of Qatar’s regulatory landscape for special events and aviation‑adjacent operations

What we are looking for:

  • Senior permitting or regulatory professional with credibility among government stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal oversight
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate tacit regulatory knowledge into clear internal processes
  • Values discretion, professionalism, and risk mitigation
