Safety Officer

Overview

The role involves ensuring food safety compliance, conducting audits, training staff, and maintaining quality control in catering operations. The Safety Officer develops and enforces health and safety programs, conducts inspections, and ensures compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring health, safety, and environmental policies, delivering safety training, and ensuring compliance in oil and gas operations.

• Plan, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to verify safety compliance; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate emergency response operations and safety communications; maintain readiness for incidents.
• Develop and deliver Health, Safety, Environment, and Food Safety training programs to enhance employee competency.
• Lead safety-related risk assessments, incident investigations, and reporting.
• Support the implementation of Safety Management Systems with a focus on process safety and loss prevention in relevant industries (oil and gas, construction, facilities management).
• Provide guidance on Barrier Management System implementation and ensure adherence to applicable standards and regulations.
• Identify hazards, promote safe work practices, and communicate safety expectations effectively to teams.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to drive sustainable safety improvements and risk reduction.

• Bachelor's Degree (or diploma) in a related field; NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in safety roles, preferably in electrical contracting, construction projects, gulf regions, or oil and gas operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills; ability to conduct risk assessments and mentor engineers and staff.
• Knowledge of HSE management systems, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance.
