Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to carry out pre-commissioning and commissioning, preventive, corrective, breakdown, and routine mechanical maintenance activities on offshore oil and gas facilities in Qatar. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting rotating and static equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for offshore oil and gas facilities.

  • Carry out installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Perform equipment preservation, flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, leak testing, and reinstatement
    .

  • Conduct mechanical completion inspections and assist with punch-list clearance
    .

  • Support commissioning of pumps, compressors, turbines, generators, valves, heat exchangers, vessels, and associated mechanical systems
    .

  • Perform equipment alignment, rotation checks, lubrication, oil flushing, and functional testing.

  • Assist with start-up, shutdown, performance testing, and troubleshooting
    .

  • Verify equipment installation against approved drawings, datasheets, and manufacturer recommendations.

  • Prepare and complete commissioning check sheets, inspection records, test packs, and handover documentation.

  • Coordinate with Construction, Commissioning, Operations, QA/QC, and HSE teams
    .

  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with PTW, LOTO, HSE, and offshore safety procedures
    .

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical Diploma, equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Typically, 5–10 years of relevant mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning maintenance experience
    , depending on the seniority of the position.

  • Proven offshore experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy industry
    .

  • Hands‑on experience with rotating and static equipment.

  • Experience with compressors, turbines, pumps, generators, mechanical seals, valves, and other process equipment is highly desirable.

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, and equipment datasheets.

  • Good command of English.

  • Valid BOSIET or FOET certification – Mandatory

  • Valid H2S Certificate – Mandatory
