MEP Engineer

Maintenx is a fast-growing maintenance and MEP fit-out company delivering end-to-end solutions across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and low-current systems. We work on fast-track fit-out and refurbishment projects and are expanding our in-house technical and estimation capabilities.

We are seeking a hands‑on MEP Engineer to support design coordination, cost estimation, and execution of MEP fit‑out projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing BoQs, reviewing drawings, planning resources, and supporting site execution across multiple projects.

This role is ideal for an engineer coming from an MEP contracting background with strong technical and costing skills.

• Review, interpret, and coordinate MEP drawings including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and ELV systems.
• Identify design gaps, clashes, and constructability issues and propose practical solutions.
• Support preparation and modification of MEP shop drawings in coordination with draftsmen (internal or outsourced).
• Prepare detailed BoQs and material take-offs from drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
• Develop cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor scopes.
• Support tender submissions, budget approvals, and value engineering exercises.

• Provide technical support to site teams, foremen, and subcontractors during execution.
• Verify quantities, resolve site technical queries, and support inspections and testing.
• Assist in preparation of claims and variation proposals with technical justification.

• Assist in breaking down project scope into manpower requirements and activity sequencing.
• Support project scheduling and coordination across multiple projects.
• Monitor material requirements and liaise with procurement teams.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in MEP contracting / fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and basic ELV systems.
• Proven experience in BoQ preparation, cost estimation, and site execution.
• Ability to read and interpret IFC and shop drawings confidently.

• AutoCAD – mandatory
• MS Excel – advanced (costing & BoQs)
• Revit / BIM exposure – an advantage (not mandatory)

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Good communication and coordination skills
