Overview
Commissioning Coordinator – Doha, Qatar. We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for a national oil and gas operator. The role requires a minimum of ten to twelve years of experience in construction and installation within the oil and gas industry, with proven expertise in FEED, EPIC, and commissioning processes.
Key Responsibilities- Represent the client on offshore facilities and contractor marine spread, overseeing pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Prepare work permits, ensuring compliance with the client’s ePTW system.
- Attend daily meetings with the Asset Holder to plan works and report progress.
- Coordinate surveillance of construction, installation, and commissioning works with HSEQ personnel.
- Manage the movement of personnel and material for work as per agreed schedule.
- Review and approve contractor pre‑commissioning and commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, JSAs, and AFC drawings.
- Inspect mechanical completion and identified punch list items to commence pre‑commissioning activities.
- Work with construction supervisors to clear punch list items and witness pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Provide daily progress reports to Head Commissioning, Logistics, and the Project Team.
- Schedule and coordinate with Operations Representatives to witness site acceptance tests and loop checks as per the commissioning plan.
- Develop and implement the commissioning plan and project schedule.
- Detail activities into required systems and subsystems to facilitate commissioning and start‑up.
- Arrange approval of all commissioning handover checklists and certificates, coordinating with contractor/vendors to resolve system/equipment performance issues.
- Coordinate punch listing activities from initiation to completion of the commissioning process, ensuring clearance and close‑out.
- Schedule vendor presence and site visits for job training to assist in the commissioning of critical equipment and processes.
- Support development activities by ensuring nationals receive proper job training and development to maximize local talent contribution.
- Support clients in developing new standards, specification guidelines, and enhancing existing corporate documents.
- Higher National Diploma (HNC) or B Sc in Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, or a recognized Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- Ten to twelve years of experience in construction and installation activities within the oil and gas industry.
- Robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects, with strong capability to review and approve contractor works.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and managerial skills.
- Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety, and environmental awareness.
- Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules, and drawings.
- Ability to highlight bottlenecks and suggest solutions.
- Ability to supervise a multinational and multicultural contractor workforce.
- Relevant technical expertise and multidisciplinary engineering exposure with troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Good IT and analytical skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
