The Engineering Managerreportstothe Country Managerandprovidestechnicalleadership ,departmentaloversight,andmanagementsupporttoensurehigh‑qualityengineeringexecutionacrossconceptual,FEED,anddetaileddesignphases.
Thisroleoverseesmultidisciplinaryengineeringteams,advancesdepartmentalcapabilities,andensurescompliancewithregionalandcorporatestandardswhilesupportingproposals,business development,andprojectdeliveryacrossglobaloffices.
- Lead the development of departmental goals, engineering initiatives, and continuous improvement of tools, procedures, and work processes.
- Provide technical recommendations on engineering software, tools, and training needs.
- Manage departmental manpower: assign resources, balance workloads, and forecast future staffing needs.
- Support proposal development through technical input, engineering man‑hourestimates, staffing plans, and execution strategies.
- Provide management oversight for engineering execution across conceptual, FEED, and detailed design, ensuring adherence to codes, standards, and client requirements (Qatar Energy, NOCs, Middle East standards).
- Oversee the quality of all engineering deliverables—calculations, specifications, datasheets, MRs, drawings, etc.
- Identify and communicate engineering risks, scope changes, and impacts on cost, schedule, and manpower.
- Participate in project reviews, technical clarifications, business development meetings, and lessons‑learned sessions.
- Support the growth of the Doha engineering office, coordinating work across Doha, Houston, and international teams.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and promote staff development.
- Coordinate the Engineering Technical Series (YELL) for pipeline‑related topics.
- 15+ years of engineering experience with proven team leadership.
- Strong understanding and application of pipeline design codes, standards, and engineering software.
- Demonstrated experience in conceptual, FEED, and detailed engineering across disciplines.
- Pipeline field experience (routing, construction).
- Experienced delivering projects in the Middle East/Africa with NOCs, PMC or EPCM organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or related engineering discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Qatar Engineering License (MME/MMUP/UPDA).
