HVAC Engineer

Hamad International Airport is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as HVAC Engineer

• Implement department asset management strategy in coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all HVAC assets meet or exceed the required performance levels.
• Manage a portfolio of capital projects including new build and expansion projects to support business expansion.
• Support large expansion projects as well as internally managed projects by leading a team of technical officers for the design review, calculation, report, testing and commissioning, and hand over documents.
• Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems are carried out by managing and monitoring outsourced vendors in order to sustain the asset condition for supporting business continuity.
• Manage asset condition survey and asset optimization for existing and new assets based on standard assessment index, providing action and recommendations for assets with low scores.
• Ensure that condition surveys and technical evaluations for essential HVAC assets are completed with relevant local and international regulations.
• Support HIA environmental vision by setting energy saving targets through developing a strategy and action plan to reduce the consumption of utilities in the respective facilities.
• Support management with critical decision‑making related to HVAC systems with sound understanding of technical requirements, business needs, risks and mitigation measures to support business continuity and expansion.
• Continuously improve in‑house contractor’s productivity and optimise resources through monitoring and direct engagement leading to cost savings for facilities maintenance. Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department.
• Implement asset maintenance optimisation to reduce cost of periodic maintenance while ensuring desired performance level of assets.
• Perform technical evaluation of internally managed projects and participate in negotiation with external consultants.
• Establish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
• Regularly evaluate the department or team’s objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes as needed.
• Oversee and supervise employees; direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
• Train and develop other employees to ensure succession planning is in place.
• Commit to and contribute to national talent development by coaching national developées, preparing them for a career with boundless potential, leading to the program’s continued growth and success.

• Relevant College or University qualification to a minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant Diploma qualification with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of latest HVAC technologies, codes and standards.
• Competent in leading, coaching and guiding a team of up to 15 people.
