Job Description:

The Electrical Technician performs installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems during offshore shutdowns, ensuring safe and efficient operations in hazardous environments.

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on HV/LV systems (switch gear, transformers, motors, UPS).
• Install and test cable trays, conduits, junction boxes, and lighting systems.
• Troubleshoot motor control circuits, VFDs, and protection relays.
• Follow Qatar Energy (QP) electrical safety rules (LOTO, arc flash prevention).
• Conduct insulation resistance (IR), megger, and continuity tests.
• Perform loop checks, relay calibration, and thermographic inspections.
• Assist in energization and de-energization of critical systems.
• Update electrical logs, test reports, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with instrumentation and mechanical teams for integrated shutdown tasks.

• Education:
  
  Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Trade Certification.
• Certifications (Mandatory):
• COMPEX (Ex01-Ex04) for hazardous areas.
• BOSIET/HUET, OPITO H2S/BA.
• HV/LV Switching Certification.
• 5+ years in offshore oil & gas electrical maintenance, with 3+ years in shutdowns.
• Familiarity with QP, Shell, or Total Energies standards.
