Engineer - Project Controls

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Engineer - Project Controls to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing project controls functions, ensuring efficient project execution, and providing critical insights to support decision-making processes.

• Develop, implement, and maintain project control systems and procedures
• Create and update project schedules using advanced scheduling software
• Monitor project progress, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
• Perform cost analysis, forecasting, and budgeting for assigned projects
• Generate comprehensive reports on project performance, including cost and schedule metrics
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
• Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Analyze project data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues
• Support the development of project proposals and bids

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls or related field within engineering or construction projects
• Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
• Strong skills in cost control, scheduling, and data analysis
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Proficient in using data analysis and reporting tools
• Knowledge of risk management techniques and best practices
• Familiarity with engineering and construction processes, industry standards, and best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
• Willingness to work on projects in Doha, Qatar, and potential travel to project sites as needed
