Responsibilities
- Supervise various civil maintenance and refurbishment works on a daily basis observing HSE, quality control, hygiene and department procedures.
- Manage site personnel and works by contractors, provide inter-discipline support whenever required and liaise/coordinate with various end users and focal points following HSE, quality control, hygiene and department procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of scope of work, BOQ, estimate schedule and reports of civil maintenance works.
- Approximately 80% of the work period involves working and supervising on site and the remaining 20% in the office.
- Access to contractors' rates and access to offices and residential buildings which involves security and safety of occupants.
- Maintain confidentiality in all company matters including layouts, drawings of buildings and other facilities.
- Receive work requests and notifications from Sr. Planning Technician (Civil), helpdesk, Sr. Maintenance Engineer (Civil), Head, Maintenance and visit locations to assess the work scope, liaise with end-users and focal points and, as appropriate, prepare specifications, sketches, estimates for supervisor's review and approval.
- Supervise assigned contractor personnel engaged in civil maintenance, modifications, renovations and new installations undertaken by Contractors in accordance with the respective contracts and ensure adherence with contract and procedures; notify supervisor of any emergency or safety concerns where action or control is required.
- Ensure safety measures are strictly adhered to, e.g., overalls, helmets, safety boots, etc.
- In the event of an accident, ensure prompt and timely reports are prepared with the nature of the accident, date and time, action taken and proposed remedial measures to prevent recurrence.
- Troubleshoot plumbing, drain blocks, roof leaks, etc., investigate root causes and implement remedial measures.
- Maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual records; periodically visit sites to ensure satisfactory progress and report unusual circumstances to supervisor.
- Assist the supervisor in preparing scope of works and BOQ for new contracts and variations.
- Participate in inspections of handover of new and released buildings with other departments teams and provide snag lists and other required reports to supervisor.
- Develop and understand AutoCAD drawings for minor office modifications and site work requirements.
- Perform additional duties as needed to address business requirements.
- 3-year diploma in Civil Engineering/Technology with 10 years relevant experience.
- Qatar/GCC countries work experience and higher qualifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD/SAP/MS Office.
- Good level of English (written and spoken).
- Candidate to hold valid Qatar Driving License
- Salary: Monthly Rate in QAR (Accommodation & Transport shall be provided, Food: On-Site Coupon Shall be Provided; Offsite Food Allowance)
- Work Schedule: 8 Hours / 5 Days
- Duration: 2 years, with possible extension
- Location: Qatar
