Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer for a national oil and gas operator in Doha. Must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering and utility network layouts onshore/offshore Oil and Gas. English language required.

• Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Building Services Engineering for all assigned engineering projects, ensuring technical quality of work in accordance with procedures while considering quality, schedule, cost, and required technical assurance practices; environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work-scopes and while conducting Mechanical Building Services Engineering activities.
• Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
• Directly responsible for ensuring Mechanical Building Services design/engineering consultants/contractors deliverables comply with requirements.
• Assess and approve/recommend suitability of Mechanical Building Services engineering submissions by consultants/contractors.
• Single point technical responsibility and accountability for assigned projects within Mechanical Building Services design/engineering; review, update and apply standards and amendments to external activities and coordinate a team of multi-discipline engineers to provide timely delivery of technical services to meet project engineering designs.
• Develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities; ensure the work-scope is comprehensive and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance.
• Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical updates and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project evaluation of technical bid packages for scope evaluation, assessment, and recommendation of new vendors proposed during project.
• Evaluate Contract Changes/Variations against approved guidelines and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers to perform work within Mechanical Building Services engineering areas; accountable for technical integrity and safety with minimal guidance.

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or Building Environmental;
  Professional Engineer status or equivalent.
• 10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, drainage, irrigation, building compressed air, medical gas) utility network layouts onshore/offshore Oil & Gas installations with Consultant/Contractor and/or client lead in use of design software such as Carrier E20, Hevacomp.
• Knowledgeable in drafting software; experience in construction, commissioning and start‑up; able to work within multi-discipline teams and resolve technical challenges related to Mechanical Building Services and adjacent disciplines to prioritise and conclude multiple tasks.
• Ability to coordinate with stakeholders, co-workers and external parties in English with good verbal and written communication skills.
