Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) Doha Qatar

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Onshore Pipelines) for a national oil and gas operator in Doha Qatar.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry of which 6 years should be in Pipeline Engineering.

Fluency in English is a must.

• Conduct Pipeline Engineering activities for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning
• Create develop and review workscopes for projects and other engineering activities
• Ensure the workscope is comprehensive and clear
• Ensure the required client technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in workscopes and whilst conducting Pipeline Engineering activities
• Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices
• Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply client standards and client’s amendment to external standards
• Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements
• Carry out inhouse site surveys, engineering and design
• Produce, review, check and approve inhouse designs and specifications
• Coordinate designs, specifications and workscopes created by multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance
• Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues
• Develop, update and monitor schedules for inhouse engineering activities
• Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance
• Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/Variation to approved guidelines and practices
• Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of coworkers
• Participate in structured training for Associate Engineers

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (or similar)
• Chartered/Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable
• Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience in Oil & Gas industry of which 6 years should be in Pipeline Engineering
• Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and codes related to Pipeline Engineering
• Proven ability to manage time, cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment
• Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations
