Job Title: Mechanical Inspector (API Certified)
Job Type: Full-Time/Contract
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector with expertise in in-service inspection for oil and gas process facilities. The ideal candidate will possess API 510, API 570, API 653, and CSWIP 3.1 certifications and have a strong background in mechanical integrity assessments, pressure relieving devices, and NDT techniques . This role requires experience in Qatar Energy Permit to Work (PTW) systems and compliance with HSE standards in Mesaieed Operations.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct in-service inspections of oil/gas process facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Perform inspections on pressure vessels, piping systems, and storage tanks in accordance with API 510, API 570, and API 653 standards.
Evaluate and ensure the integrity of pressure relieving devices and mechanical equipment.
Utilize conventional and in-service NDT techniques to detect flaws and anomalies.
Review and interpret inspection reports, welding procedures, and material specifications.
Ensure compliance with Qatar Energy PTW and ePTW requirements.
Conduct risk-based inspections and recommend corrective actions for mechanical failures.
Maintain accurate records of inspections and generate reports for client review.
Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to schedule inspections and repairs.
Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and company policies .
Strong understanding of API, ASME, and other relevant standards .
Proficiency in mechanical integrity assessments and failure analysis.
Knowledge of inspection techniques, risk-based inspection (RBI), and fitness-for-service (FFS) analysis .
Excellent report writing and documentation skills .
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills in English.
Work Environment &Conditions:
Site-based role in oil and gas facilities .
Requires physical inspection of mechanical equipment and confined space entry.
Compliance with strict HSE guidelines and safety procedures.
RequirementsQualifications &
Experience:
Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Discipline from a reputed institute.
Experience:
10 years of experience in oil and gas for Diploma holders OR 5 years for Bachelor’s degree holders .
Proven experience in in-service inspection of oil/gas process facilities.
Hands-on knowledge of pressure relieving devices and mechanical components.
Familiarity with NDT techniques and valid Level II NDT certification .
Certifications:
API 510, API 570, API 653 (Mandatory)
CSWIP 3.1 (Mandatory)
Must have held API certifications for at least 3 years .
Ability to pass Qatar Energy PTW system requirements.
Knowledge of HSE policies as per Mesaieed Operations Qatar Energy guidelines.
