The HSE Fit Inspector will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a specific focus on equipment fitness, PPE inspection, and workforce safety readiness. The role requires a NEBOSH-certified professional experienced in conducting HSE inspections within shipyard or oil & gas environments.
Job Role & Responsibilities- Conduct HSE fit inspections of tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ensure all employees meet safety fitness requirements before commencing work.
- Monitor compliance with HSE standards across all operational activities.
- Perform safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections on-site.
- Identify unsafe acts or conditions and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, safety documentation, and compliance records.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety training sessions for site personnel.
- Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with the HSE Manager to implement continuous safety improvement measures.
- Ensure adherence to international and company-specific HSE standards at all times.
Education:
NEBOSH Certification (Mandatory).
- Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years in Shipyard or Oil & Gas sectors in a safety inspection or HSE role. - Strong understanding of occupational safety standards, hazard identification, and control procedures.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards preferred.
- Familiarity with inspection tools, safety protocols, and compliance audits.
- Experience in Gulf or overseas industrial projects preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of HSE inspection and compliance procedures.
- Strong observational and analytical skills for identifying risks.
- Good command over reporting, documentation, and safety communication.
- Ability to train and guide workers on safe work practices.
- Leadership and teamwork skills to promote a strong safety culture.
