Planning Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using planning tools Primavera P6 and MS-Project.
• Analyze project timelines, identify potential bottlenecks, and propose solutions to optimize project execution.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and incorporate project requirements into schedules.
• Seek authorization/approval for the Baseline Schedule (go ahead).
• Monitor project progress, update schedules, and report variances to key stakeholders.
• Perform resource allocation and optimization to ensure efficient utilization of personnel and equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays.
• Prepare and present periodic reports on project status, including earned value analysis and key performance indicators.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates.
• Participate in project meetings and provide insights on schedule-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with project deadlines, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
• Maintain high-quality documents and records.
• Visit the project site to obtain actual progress data.
• Conduct project team progress meetings (internal and external).
• Communicate project schedule and reports in both directions (internal and external).
• Create a draft extension of time if necessary.

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or PMI-SP.
• 2-5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
• Expertise in resource allocation and optimization.
• Experience in cost estimation and budgeting.
• The ability to draft extension of time (analysis and narrative).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
