Job Responsibilities Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in AC/DC motors, generators, and transformers using multimeters, megohmmeters, and surge testers.
Disassemble motors and conduct detailed inspections of components like windings, bearings, rotors, stators, and seals for wear, damage, or insulation failure.
Perform repairs including stripping old windings, rewinding coils, varnishing, and baking to restore insulation integrity.
Replace defective mechanical parts such as bearings, seals, and brushes.
Dynamically balance rotors to ensure smooth operation and prevent vibration.
Reassemble motors precisely, ensuring all components meet manufacturer specifications.
Conduct operational tests under load to verify performance, efficiency, and safety before returning to service.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks like cleaning, lubrication, and insulation resistance testing.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), when working on high-voltage equipment.
Complete detailed service reports and documentation for all repair and maintenance activities.
