We are recruiting for an Aircraft Mechanic – Engine Shop to be based in Doha, Qatar. The role ensures all scheduled and unscheduled bore scope tasks, spare engines/APU tasks such as engine build‑up, receiving inspection, dispatch inspection, cannibalisation of engine parts on AOG situations, spare engine storage and tool housekeeping within engine facility are performed to the highest possible maintenance standards.
SpecificResponsibilities of the Role
- Perform maintenance tasks such as inspections, component replacements, servicing, QEC build up, modifications, minor repair of engines and APUs as directed by a licensed Engineer or Lead mechanic.
- Adhere to all pertinent safety precautions as published in manufacturer’s and company relevant publications on all tasks related to scheduled and unscheduled ‘Borescope inspections and engine build‑up tasks.
- Responsible for quick engine change build‑up to ensure availability of ready‑for‑installation power plant to support aircraft operation.
- Responsible for engine fan case split/mate to support hot spare availability.
- Ensure engine module R/I within company capability register.
- Maintain critical engine defect rectification in light, heavy and Doha line to ensure operational reliability.
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Trade, vocational aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
- ICAO Type 2 Basic license with minimum 5 years aircraft maintenance experience (including apprenticeship).
- Qatar Airways fleet engine type engine maintenance experience.
- Airbus and Boeing documentation experience.
- Engine module / removal.
- Bore scope support experience.
- Experience with V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6‑80E1, GE90, GENx, GP7000, Trent XWB build‑up and maintenance an added advantage.
- Experience with V2500, Trent 500, GE CF6‑80E1, GE90, GTCP 331‑250/350 and APS
3200, GE Nxl, GP7000 an added advantage. - Engine module removal/installation experience.
- Engine shop experience.
