36 months, 6 days/week, 8–10 hours/day, 26 days/month, 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off

A major LNG development project is seeking an Engineering Lead (Civil & Structural) to provide technical leadership throughout the EPC execution phase. The role ensures all civil and structural engineering activities are delivered according to project scope, budget, schedule, and technical standards. This position is ideal for a highly experienced engineer with Oil & Gas expertise, strong leadership skills, and proven ability to manage contractors and multidisciplinary teams in a brownfield and multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead civil and structural engineering discipline activities, supporting project strategy and goals
- Coordinate technical activities with project owner, shareholders, contractors, vendors, and consultants
- Develop, update, and maintain engineering policies and procedures in consultation with Engineering Manager and team leaders
- Support external engineering teams to ensure design meets project and company requirements
- Evaluate complex engineering tasks and provide recommendations to management
- Introduce and maintain best practices, lessons learned, and software tools to improve project execution and cost efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company systems, processes, and project management standards (e.g., QGPMS)
- Participate in contracting and procurement to ensure technical requirements are met throughout bid, evaluation, and contract execution
- Monitor and guide FEED, EPC contractors, and third-party service providers to ensure design and construction meet project specifications, standards, and schedule
- Maintain full project chronology of civil and structural design revisions for contract administration
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 8 years of engineering experience, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas industry and at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role
- Experience with EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or service providers in Oil & Gas projects
- Strong knowledge of international engineering standards, specifications, and design practices
- Experience in project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk and change management, and interface management
- Experience managing contractors and third-party vendors through multiple project phases, ideally from FEED to Start-up
- Knowledge of sour service gas and LNG facilities (onshore) or large offshore platforms/pipelines (offshore)
- SME-level competency in at least one engineering discipline
- Experience in technology adoption and continuous improvement initiatives
- Fluent in written and oral English
- Strong leadership, personal integrity, and contractor management skills
- Excellent analytical, organisational, coordination, and planning abilities
- Strong communication, negotiation, and mediation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software
- Deep knowledge of civil engineering codes, standards, and industry practices
- Strategic and technically capable engineer able to lead large-scale projects
- Collaborative and proactive in a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment
