Purpose of the Position:
As Instrumentation Engineer, you will respond to the Instrumentation Manager and be part of Saipem Qatar within the Engineering Fixed Facilities Department.
- Perform project technical tasks assigned by the Instrumentation Discipline Lead, including design, checking, layout definition, installation drawings, material definition, validation, testing, and engineering of process measuring sensors, process actuators, installation elements, and process safety elements.
- Interface and coordinate with other project team specialists and designers.
- Coordinate technical activities performed by in sourcing or outsourcing.
- Develop technical know‑how and provide commercial support.
- Conduct feasibility studies.
- Participate in bidding phase and commercial proposal development, preparing instrumentation elements, quantities for cost and erection work estimates, and supporting the Discipline Lead to define man hours and cost estimates.
- During project execution, review client technical documentation and requirements, coordinate subcontracted engineering activities, define engineering design basis and guidelines, prepare technical documentation for instrumentation elements, material and services requisitions, and provide technical support to the project team.
- Optimize instrumentation design to ensure minimal cost and complexity while meeting contractual and safety requirements.
- Prepare instrumentation technical specifications, data sheets, installation specifications, drawings, BOQs, and MTOs.
- Participate in P&, validate vendor control valves and safety valve sizing calculations, validate vendor measurement element sizing calculations, coordinate engineering activities, ensure 3D modelling design activities, and participate in F.A.T. activities and vendor workshops.
- Provide technical and engineering support to the construction team during construction and startup.
- Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering (preferable) or equivalent degree.
- Minimum 5 years of EPC experience in instrumentation at an expert level.
- Proficiency in English.

- Knowledge of company processes and procedures

- Familiarity with bidding methodologies, standard codes, and regulations
- Understanding of design criteria and guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Microsoft Project
