Pavement Engineer

Overview

My client is a leading British engineering company who have recently won a long term contract to deliver an asset management framework for the Public Works Authority in Qatar. As part of this they are looking a Pavement Engineer to help develop a world class asset database including a pavement management system.

• Pavement design and provision of pavement technical support for roads related projects including the development of a pavement management system.
• Compliance with all relevant standards.
• Delivery of all specified project outcomes on time, within budget and to the required standard.
• Carry out site visits and surveys, inspections and supervise sub contractors.
• Prepare and check design approach, calculations, drawings and documents.
• Take line manager responsibility for junior design team members.

Candidates must have a degree in civil engineering or a related field and will preferably be a chartered or incorporated engineer with either of the following: the Institute of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Highways and Transportation or the Institute of Structural Engineers. Candidates will have a wealth of pavement design experience and will be familiar with all UK and international design standards.

Candidates should be experienced leading a pavement design team and will have experience of implementing a pavement management system.
