Application Engineer – AMI

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the end‑to‑end solutions and provision of technical leadership to ensure compliance with security, scalability, flexibility, maintainability and other non‑functional requirements.
• Responsible for articulating the architectural vision, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches, creating models and component and interface specification documents, and validating the architecture against requirements and assumptions.
• Be the technical interface to suppliers and customers during phases of a project and coordinate with the KM relative department on all technical issues related to AMI operation and maintenance.
• Presentation of complex technical solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Continuously expand knowledge and specialization of technology, design patterns and products.
• Review designers, recommend development, identify and understand technical opportunities, constraints and issues with a solution given existing components in place.
• IT strategic development and planning, portfolio management and future expansion directions.
• Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of equipment in an industrial environment, using knowledge of engineering and programming, as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
• Data migration and system integration.
• Gather requirements, write specifications and test plans.
• Perform other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
• Minimum eight years’ experience, with at least two years in application/software/solution architecture engineering.
• Development experience in C#, Java and MySQL database.
• Experience with serial interfaces (RS232, SPI) and embedded firmware in
  
  C.
• Experience with Zig Bee, WiFi, Z‑Wave applications.
• Previous support and FAE experience.
• Experience with a bug tracking system.
