Responsibilities
- Implement HSE strategy within the operational environment.
- Manage assurance processes within the operational environment to drive sustained improvement.
- Implement and direct change within the operational environment to achieve a positive safety culture.
- Assess and assure site management maintain compliance against regulatory, contractual, HSSEQ and accepted industry practice requirements.
- Provide expert technical guidance to line management functions.
- Apply compliance and measurement tools at work site environments to monitor, record and verify that obligations, safe work methodologies and processes are effectual.
- Follow up HSE aspects of new projects and third‑party vessels.
- Carry out HSE/Hygiene inspections across own and chartered fleet.
- Verify HSE documentation for new contracts and chartered vessels.
- In the event of an HSEQ‑related incident, direct initial scene response, provide situation reports to line manager, collate requirements for analysis, conduct interviews of involved persons, track corrective and preventive actions, and facilitate lessons‑learned communications; participate in incident investigations when requested.
- Undertake verification of competency assurance for operational activities involving HSEQ criticality.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Education & Professional Qualification
- 2‑year full‑time Graduate Diploma in Health or
- 3‑year full‑time Degree (Associate Degree) from a recognized institution and NEBOSH Diploma in Health and Safety; or
- 3‑year full‑time Degree (Associate Degree) from a recognized institution and Chartered membership;
Offshore marine experience (1st or 2nd preferred).
- Auditor qualification for ISM/ISPS accreditation from a recognized institution.
- Root Cause Analysis certification from an organization.
- Training and Assessment qualification (e.g., Training and Assessing (Australia), Assessment and Quality Assurance (UK)); includes Literature and Numeracy modules or equivalent.
- First Aid certification.
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrable experience in the profession, with at least 5 years as an HSE professional in the gas marine industry (preferably with exposure to AHTV operations).
- At least 3 years of demonstrable experience with accountability of HSE operational functions.
- Working knowledge of SOLAS, STCW, MARPOL, and class requirements.
- Computer skills: good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Language skills: fluent in English.
- Market/Industry/Functional knowledge: sound knowledge of international best‑practices and global companies operating in high‑risk, high‑environment settings governed by stringent regulatory frameworks.
