As an AI‑for‑Chip‑Design Engineer
, you will work at the intersection of advanced SoC design and AI‑enabled design acceleration. Your mission is to accelerate SoC design by introducing, developing, and operationalizing AI‑driven methodologies across the chip design flow. You will work closely with design and AI experts across imec’s global network while contributing to the growth of imec’s Qatar design activities.
- Work with state‑of‑the‑art SoC and packaging technologies.
- Accelerate chip design flows through: assessment and integration of advanced EDA tools, development of new design methodologies leveraging imec knowledge, and identification of high‑impact use cases where AI and LLMs can significantly improve ASIC and chiplet design.
- Collaborate with AI experts to define and execute an AI‑aided design roadmap, from concept development to proof‑of‑concepts and operational deployment.
- Contribute to the industrialization of AI‑assisted design flows applicable across multiple technology domains.
- Actively contribute to the local and regional ecosystem in Qatar through collaboration with internal teams, academic partners, and industry stakeholders.
- You hold an MSc in Microelectronics or a related field
. - You are a digital / functional chip design engineer (from system specification to verified RTL, IP integration and documentation). Digital Physical Design background is an asset.
- You are proficient in scripting and automating design flows.
- You have a strong interest in optimising design flows and reducing design cycles.
- You have a basic to solid background in AI and are motivated to further apply AI techniques to chip design (existing experience is a strong asset).
- You have a good foundation in software programming and are familiar with code, data, and model versioning tools.
